Infinite variety, endless opportunity

Emily Blake

Variety has been a big word for me at Glory. After starting out in sales operations I progressed to sales, followed by a supply chain role. This saw me working on a global IT project, and travelling extensively across many of Glory’s regions. That experience has ultimately equipped me for the Global Marketing role I enjoy today.

A series of fantastic, supportive and trusting managers have provided opportunities for me to move into new roles. In my experience, managers will put the company-wide picture before their own team’s immediate needs, supporting team members to move into new roles where it is of benefit both to the individual and the company.

As well as on-the-job training, I’ve gained communication skills which help me work with managers, colleagues and stakeholders across all levels of seniority, a vital and rewarding skill.

No cookie-cutter culture

I’ve worked internationally in many different roles, which has helped me understand different cultures and developed my communication style across Glory’s varied regions and markets.

The culture at Glory is rich and remarkable. It encourages the formation of professional relationships and connections. Glory’s culture holds space for all kinds of characters: there is no-one-size-fits-all here. Individual differences are embraced; we welcome and learn from these differences, and the benefits reach everyone.

Celebrating diversity

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to be involved with the Diversity and Inclusion strategy and network at Glory. Our aim is to foster an inclusive culture where all employees are respected and valued for their unique backgrounds and contributions, enabling us all to reach our full potential. Since the launch we have devised an action plan and I’m excited to be part of its future roll-out .

I’ve also been honoured to serve on the Employee Forum which represents the UK’s employees, acting as a bridge between employees and management. The Forum ensures there is open communication and enables employees’ concerns to be raised. It reflects Glory’s culture of respect and inclusion and is part of the reason I’m proud to be a part of the Glory family.
