I have recently been promoted to become a CAD administrator after having been a Mechanical Engineer for almost 10 years.
One aspect of my role that I love is when, following the detailed development and review phase, I receive the equipment prototypes. That is the moment when the fruits of all the creative efforts invested in the earlier stages come to fruition. This phase gives me a lot of gratification and pleasure - and spurs me on to give my all at work. I’m proud to be part of a multi-talented technical team. We fuse skills, work quickly and produce phenomenal results.
We are a company with excellent, focused multi-disciplinary teams and a very strong leadership culture. My own manager created space for me to fulfil my ambitions. He encouraged me at every turn and signposted me towards the right training courses. The training works at a very deep level, building on my existing skills and keeping them up to date. A good example of this is the CAD and Project Management training I took. This helped me develop so I could transition into my new role.
Upholding design standards can be challenging, but Glory has helped by facilitating on-the-job training from expert colleagues in Japan. Learning from experienced professionals with a track record of quality designs is the key to fully understanding the reasoning and application behind each requirement.
Glory’s consideration and respect for employees extends even further: culture is cultivated locally, work-life balance is honoured, and I benefit from a flexible teleworking scheme. Tailored wellbeing courses are another tangible example of Glory’s consideration for employees.
Here, there is a remarkable team spirit. Everyone is given their own unique space to thrive, and all people are treated as equal regardless of their background or culture. It’s the perfect environment to blend our own personal skills and talents with the whole team’s and create something truly special.
