Laura Van Der Putten
My journey with Glory started in 2016 when the EMEA Distribution Center was founded. My role has evolved since then and I’ve grown with and within the organisation. This led to my appointment as European Master Distribution Centre Site Manager. Ultimately, I was promoted to EMEA Supply Chain Manager, a role which I thoroughly enjoy.
I have been lucky to have several mentors throughout my career at Glory. This has helped a great deal in my career evolution. I have also benefited from training, travel and the opportunity to network with colleagues from different departments and areas of the business. It has been so valuable to share experiences and best practices. Working with colleagues in other parts of the world – seeing different products and ways of meeting customers’ needs – has helped me view Glory more panoramically.
The global supply chain world is ever-changing and can be challenging. At Glory, we need to be up to speed with the latest developments at all times. Luckily we have links with many reliable partners, as well as our own global network of experts. Combined, these are a huge help when making key decisions. All this is beneficial to the business, but also to my ongoing career development.
In the past year or so we have had great challenges related to the balancing of demand and supply, due to various global factors including chip shortages, port congestion and geopolitical issues. We overcame and mitigated these obstacles by proposing creative solutions, using our global network of experts and by timely engagement with teams.
At Glory, what makes a difference is the fantastic professionals and teams that I work with, close to home and globally. Whether locally or further away, we all aim for the same goals and ultimately achieve them. Together, we’ve turned the global challenges we face into opportunities – and a firm foundation for learning, gaining strength through adversity and collaboration.
