Dallas Zoo Optimizes Cash Operations with Glory

Saving 357 Hours Monthly to Focus on Conservation Efforts

Dallas Zoo reduced cashier counting time from 20 minutes to just 5 minutes with payback in 9 months

The Dallas Zoo has a long and storied history dating back to its founding in 1888. It is a premier entertainment and conservation attraction in the state of Texas. It is a highly respected member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and was even ranked as a top 10 zoo by the USA Today.

Prior to having an RBG-300, the Dallas Zoo was counting down and building 30~ tills per day in their cash room. Cashiers had to count before and after every shift, totaling up to 20 minutes of count time per cashier. They also have a cash room manager that was counting to verify every till each night to prepare for the next morning. The total daily cash office till management accounted for 5 hours alone.

With the implementation of the RBG-300, they no longer had to have management present in the cash room on Sundays and special events. Cashiers can autonomously extract their tills and make deposits without the Zoo having to staff a manager. The cashiers also reduced their counting time from 20 minutes to 5 minutes. The labor savings alone has saved the Zoo 357 hours a month. The payback period was only 9 months. These savings help further the Zoo’s important mission of conservation.
